Deese continues the stories of characters from All That Really Matters (2021). Val Locklier and her 10-year-old son, Tucker, move from Skagway, Alaska, to Spokane, Washington, to help Val's friend and employer, Molly McKenzie, with a new nonprofit venture. Molly's twin brother, Miles, has a two-bedroom apartment for rent that seems perfect for Val and Tucker, so they take it. Miles is an outreach pastor and has been travelling. He believes that marriage would interfere with his ministry, but he finds himself changing his mind. Val is insecure due to her physical limitations and because of what happened when Tucker's father learned she was pregnant. Her dream is to become a documentary filmmaker--is she brave enough to follow it? As Val and Miles both find their true callings in helping others and reaffirm their faith, their romance will touch readers.
